Online Safety

Within the Stalyhill Schools' Federation, we use a range of tools and procedures to support children in staying safe online. We use an online filtering system that automatically filters out harmful content and restricts the websites that children can access.

The Senso system, which also monitors keystrokes and search terms, alerts senior leaders immediately when children or staff type in or search for a flagged term. This enables senior leaders to check with the child and teacher the context of the word and deal with any potential issues as a result.

Teachers and staff monitor children's IT use closely in lessons and, through our Computing and PSHE curriculums, regularly discuss with children the potential dangers of using the internet and online gaming platforms and how to stay safe online.

There is a wealth of information available to support parents with keeping their children safe online.
